Yaron Herman

Thinking in Schillinger

“It is because of the limits of language that I have always preferred to let the music speak for itself.”-Yaron Herman.

It was our pleasure to feature the world-renowned improvisational pianist Yaron Herman in our Artist Spotlight.

Yaron study of music was non-conventional. He began studying at age 16 after a basketball injury ended his hopes for a sports career. He studied with Professor Opher Bayer who is well known for combining motivation, psychology, philosophy and mathematics (Schillinger system) in his method of teaching. Yaron learned and practiced the Schillinger System with Professor Brayer as part of his private piano lessons. He then briefly studied at Berklee College of Music before moving to Paris.

Yaron through his commitment to study began to think in Schillinger. The mathematical basis of Schillinger’s teachings allowed Yaron the freedom of improvisation. He found that he was able to create and cultivate his music on demand following Schillinger’s basic mathematical principles. His music was creative, fresh and modern. Schillinger teachings reach all genres of music.

Yaron is considered the most impressive pianist of his generation. He along with

Matt Brewer-double bass and Gerald Cleaver-drums continue amaze audiences worldwide.

He has been awarded:

Best new instrumentalist 2008 Victoires du Jazz

Best revelation of the year 2008
